MIT.nano, officially the Lisa T. Su Building, is MIT’s hub for
nanoscience and nanotechnology research. Opened in
2018, this LEED Platinum-certified facility exemplifies
sustainable design in high-performance labs. It integrates
over 60 energy-saving measures, including a heat recovery
system and a high-performance curtain wall, cutting
energy costs by 51% and greenhouse gas emissions by
50%. Its optimized cleanrooms make it one of the most
energy-efficient facilities of its kind. Recognized with the
AIA COTE Top Ten Award, MIT.nano sets a benchmark for
sustainable research buildings.
