About Us
Our Mission
Northeastern University Sustainable Building Organization (NUSBO) + Climate Science Engineering (CSE) seeks to engage and connect members interested in the field of sustainable buildings and foster multi-disciplinary relationships between students, educators, and professionals in the industry.

When was NUSBO formed and why?
NUSBO is a student organization founded in 2016 by a handful of students in Northeastern’s Sustainable Building Systems master’s program. We strive to build a community that cares about the development of the built environment and exposes people to building science including the latest developments in building technology and design.
This year, NUSBO has partnered with the Climate Science & Engineering (CSE) program to help run the organization. While we’ll maintain our sustainable building focus, we’re expanding to include more climate and sustainability-focused events and discussions. We’re particularly emphasizing career guidance – helping students understand how to apply their climate science education and prepare for post-graduation opportunities in the field.
What does it look like to be a member?
There is no membership fee to join NUSBO and it is open to graduate AND undergraduate students in ANY program or department.
Our meetings occur every Wednesday from 6:30pm – 7:30pm in Kariotis Hall Room 209, for the 2025 Fall Semester.
